Passed away at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the age of 83 years.

Sherwood “Lou” Lubitz of Pembroke, husband of 50 years to Sharon Lubitz (nee Ruddy). Son of the late Albert and the late Alice Lubitz (nee Gould). Brother of the late Murray Lubitz. Son-in-law of Alice Ruddy and the late Ken Ruddy. Brother-in-law of Judy Schilling (Jim), Shirley Heppner, Jacqueline Mellon and Kenny Ruddy. Survived by many nieces & nephews. Lou will be fondly remembered by all his hunting buddies.

Visitation will be held at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Columbkille’s Cathedral on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. Columba’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, carrying on Lou’s charitable traditions, donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute, Renfrew County SPCA, Canadian Cancer Society or Queensway Carleton Hospital would be appreciated.
