Ronald Hoffman

May 18, 2020

HOFFMAN, Ronald Howard of Pembroke (Retired teacher with the RCDSB) – passed away peacefully at Renfrew Victoria Hospital, with his family at his bedside, after a valiant struggle which he stoically endured, on Monday, May 18, 2020 in his 80th year. Our “Rocket” Ronnie passionately loved his family, friends and his students he taught and always showed his selflessness and empathy towards everyone he met. Ronnie had a deep fascination with world culture, philosophy, history, travel and music. In his later years, he especially enjoyed his time singing in the St. Columbkille’s Cathedral choir where he formed many new friendships. He had an immense respect for nature and all things in the natural world. His bravery in the face of adversity was a shining example of how to be a true leader.

Ron will be forever loved and greatly missed by his wife Marilyn Hoffman (nee Jarvis).  Loving father of Christine Hoffman, Toronto; Brant Hoffman, Pembroke; Shayne Hoffman (Dan), Douglas; Troy Hoffman (Tara), Pembroke; Tania Fernandes (Mike), Ottawa; Chantal Hoffman (Shawn), Douglas; and Mary Greenaway (Bobby), Braeside.  Cherished grandfather of Dawson & Tyler; Braeden, Sydney & Cassie; Rowan; Rhys & Gavin; and Leah, Cora & Beckett.  Son of the late Alfred and Adeline Hoffman (nee Heideman) and dear brother of Loretta Raglin (late Willard) & Delores Wiesenberg (late Robert).  Predeceased by brother Alan Hoffman (late Eileen).  Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
