Rhoda Nieman

NIEMAN, Rhoda Mary Amelia – passed away at Renfrew Hospice, Monday, January 29, 2024 at the age of 95 years.

Rhoda Nieman (nee Dament) of Pembroke, beloved wife of the late Norman Nieman. Loving mother of Phyllis Pinkerton (Bill), Pembroke; Bill (Elaine Leblanc), Pembroke; Tom (Patricia Manion), Petawawa and Lloyd (Elizabeth Fushtey), Ottawa.   Loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  Predeceased by parents Otto Frederick and Amelia (nee Molzahn); sisters Inez (Eddie Hoffman), Edna (Herman Nieman) and brothers Rinhold (Elsie Hoffman), Allan (Mary Newman), Alfred (Ruth Wegner), Amos (Mae Ashick) and great-grandchild Marshall Quenneville.  

A heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Home and Community Care Support Services Champlain, Bayshore Home Care Solutions and Access Health for their commitment to mom’s care.  A special thank you to Dr. Bzdell whose compassion went above and beyond in caring for mom.  Thank you to Renfrew Hospice staff who took wonderful care of mom during her last week with us and made us, as family, feel so thankful for the kindness shown to us.

A Funeral Service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church,, 357 Miller St., Pembroke on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Spring interment in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home.  As an expression of sympathy, donations to St. John’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated.
