Raymond Garfield Snyder passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the age of 91 ½ years. Surrounded by his closest loved ones, Ray took his final journey shortly after enjoying a final sip of Newfie Screech—a fittingly spirited departure for a man who embraced every moment.
Ray was the devoted husband of 67 years to the late Jessie Snyder (née Rowe). He was the loving father of the late Lillian Schreader (Ed Rutkowski) and the late Gary Snyder. He is also survived by his brother, Lovette Snyder.
A man of service and dedication, Ray served 15 years in the Canadian Armed Forces before transitioning to a long and successful career at Brum’s Dairy, where he retired after 32 years of hard work and camaraderie.
To his grandchildren, Erin Schreader and Shawn Schreader, he was affectionately known as "Dado". He was a proud great-grandfather to Kaelan and Alyssa, and a cherished godfather to Diane Sheppard. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to his nurse, Erin, for her exceptionally compassionate care and the deep bond she shared with Ray.
Ray was a familiar face at the River Club, where he spent many of his favorite hours. Whether he was playing a hand of cards, walking the golf course, or sharing a laugh with friends, his presence was a staple of the community.
Ray will be remembered for his steadfast loyalty, his storied career, and the deep love he held for his family and friends.
Raymond’s urn will be brought home until the time comes to lay him and his wife to rest together, alongside their daughter Lillian at the Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Pembroke. Arrangements entrusted to the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.
