HILDEBRANDT, Paul Garwood - passed away suddenly at the Pembroke Regional Hospital, on Monday, January 18, 2021 at the age of 80 years. Paul Hildebrandt of Pembroke, dear husband of 53 years to Marie Hildebrandt (nee Luloff). Cherished dad of Jean Kulas and son-in-law Christopher Kulas of Golden Lake. Son of the late Lorne and Lydia Hildebrandt (nee Schoenfeldt). Dear brother of Leslie (Betty), Pembroke; Gordon (Eileen), Huntsville; late Barry (late Margaret), Sault Ste. Marie; Iris (Jim Fischer), Toronto; Bruce (Marilyn), Pembroke & Fern (Bryan Turcotte) of Ottawa. Brother-in-law of Jim Luloff (Pam), Oshawa. Paul is survived and missed by many nieces and nephews. Paul was born on October 15, 1940 in Golden Lake. It is there that he spent much of his time enjoying the outdoors, whether it was hunting, working at the maple bush making syrup and spending time with his family. He also liked to debate politics. In his younger years, he enjoyed a good round of golf or a competitive curling match. As of most recent, you could find him immersing himself in a good book reading by the lake. A special thank you to Heather & Richard Scharf and Raymond Aka for being wonderful supportive friends and neighbors. To Paul’s brother Bruce, for being so helpful in his last days. Paul thought so much of all of you. Respecting Paul's wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held in the spring at St. John's United Cemetery in Golden Lake (Island View Drive). Arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke. (As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Renfrew County SPCA.) Online donations/condolences are available at www.mdbfuneralhome.com
