VARVARESOS, Nicholas - passed away peacefully at his home, with his family by his side, on August 5, 2021 at the age of 86 years.
Beloved husband of Evanthia Vania. Dear father to Athon (Oxana), Dino (Heather) and Michelle (Boguslav). Proud Pappou to Alexandra & Evan; and Sebastian & Nikolas. Son of late Athanasios and Costantina Varvaresos (nee Livanos). Cherished brother to Harry (Voula). Predeceased by his siblings Tina (late John), George (Chryssanthe), Irini (late Simos), Maria (late Panagiotis), Eleni (late Georgios), James (late Catherine), Angeliki and Panagiotis. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Greece.
Nick came from Greece in 1951. A proud long-time business owner and successful entrepreneur in Pembroke. He devoted his life to his family, working tirelessly to support them in both Canada and Greece, asking little for himself. Nick’s impact will be felt for years to come through the many sponsorships, employment opportunities and guidance he willingly offered and committed to. His work ethic and dedication became the foundation for many around him to strive to achieve. He was, and will always be, the perfect gentleman and will be forever loved and missed.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the health care professionals and personal support workers for their exceptional care and compassion shown towards Nick in his final days. Without their support, our family would not have been able to realize our wishes of keeping Nick home until his passing.
