Predeceased by parents William and Amanda Scheuneman (nee Greif) and siblings Gertrude, Eric (late Isabel), and Oscar (late Elva). Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, neighbours, friends and Grace Lutheran Church, Locksley Church family.

A special thank you to the supportive and compassionate staff for their excellent care at Supples Landing for their 10 years of care and Miramichi Lodge for their 5 years of care.

Myra lived a life guided first and foremost by her deep faith in God. Her love for her family was based on the firm belief of the strength of family and friend connections.

In 1941, at the age of 21, Myra married Walter, leaving the town of Pembroke to take on the role of a farm wife on what became a Century Farm. They were the third Witt generation on the heritage farm. Myra was a hard worker and quickly became busy, producing eggs and sauerkraut, making weekly trips to sell these at the Pembroke market. Gardening became a summer activity, growing vegetables for the family of 7, including Walter’s Dad, our Papa who lived with us for 20 years following their marriage. As they began to raise more animals, Myra's interest developed in producing smoke and blood sausages, headcheese and pate de fois, better known to our family as “fugra", a popular recipe of her mother’s, Amanda Scheuneman. Since the farm was the “Witt Homestead” she hosted many large family gatherings, creating opportunities to make marvelous memories of laughter and storytelling.

Myra was a faithful and active member of Grace Lutheran Church, Locksley as a Sunday school teacher, secretary of the Ladies Aid and Missionary League, member of the sewing circle, Lutheran Missionary Society, Ladies Aid and Altar Guild. She continued to attend Bible Study at Supples Landing and Miramichi Lodge, no matter the denomination, always a willing learner in her faith.

When Myra and Walter finally retired, they enjoyed travelling to Europe, Hawaii, Florida, Washington and Liddle’s Fishing Lodges, enjoying the companionship of friends or family. They were an adventuresome twosome! They loved visiting their four children and grandchildren, always keeping in touch. Myra was a kind and concerned mother who always wanted to know what you had been up to and experienced great joy in remembering everyone's birthdays. She loved picking and eating blueberries and was a lover of all things chocolate. She was a competitive card player, avid bingo winner and played Chinese checkers, winning as recently as 2 weeks ago!

Myra was a curious fun-loving person and enjoyed her social interactions with others. After Walter passed, she and her friends would frequent church dinners, mom driving them to wherever the next dinner was! She wanted to stay busy and worked in several retail stores, practicing her social and sales skills. In the yearly report given by Miramichi Lodge, she had participated in over 500 events in her 104th year! Mom always appeared happy with a positive disposition and an infectious smile. Her love for her 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren was steadfast and unshakeable! Myra was a loving godmother to two nieces, Doreen Grahl (Ziebel) and Suzanne Scheuneman.

When asked what the key to her longevity of 104 years was, her quick response was always flaxseed, while blueberries and sauerkraut were close seconds!

Myra will be fondly remembered, deeply missed and forever loved. She was a true blessing to all who knew her!
