Mark Schauer

Passed away at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 one day shy of his 65th birthday.

Mark Elmer Schauer of Pembroke is survived and sorely missed by the love of his life of 36 years Patricia Schauer (Krüning). Proud father of Colin Schauer and the late Brandon Schauer (January 2022). Son of the late Elmer & Darlene Schauer (nee Roesler). Survived by brother Bruce (Sharon) Schauer and father-in-law Ralf Krüning (late Gabriella).

Mark was a gentle, kind man who loved listening to his political podcasts with his dog Hazel, a cavalier king charles spaniel. He enjoyed watching the Ottawa Senators. He was a devoted 32 year employee at K.I Pembroke Manufacturing. Patricia would like to thank all the amazing staff and doctors at the Pembroke Regional Hospital ICU unit and Paramedics that took such wonderful care of Mark and also their kindness and compassion shown towards her during the most difficult time of their lives. Thank you so much.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Sunday, November 1st from 1:00 til 2:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service in the chapel beginning at 2:00 p.m. The service will be made available virtually by clicking this link. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen are appreciated.
