Margaret Fischer

May 26, 1946 — July 30, 2025

FISCHER, Margaret Josephine – passed away peacefully, surrounded with the love of her family on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at the age of 79 years.

Margaret Fischer (nee Daigle), of Deep River, affectionately known in the community as Mrs. Fischer or Muggsy, a widow for 39 years after losing her beloved husband the late Edmond Fischer (d. September 3, 1986). Margaret was a determined, strong, independent woman out of necessity, who through everything life threw her way, always tried to find the humour and when there wasn’t any to find, she created it – her resilience didn’t go unnoticed by her cherished children: James “Jamie” “Jim” (late Elena “Anna”), Eddy (Paula), Lee, the late infant Mark, David (Kristin), and Margaret-Ann “Lizzy” Fischer-Farrell (Colin). Margaret was always worried but extremely proud and honoured to have two of her sons serve as members of the Canadian Armed Forces, deploy on several tours, make personal sacrifices and be forever changed to protect others. Her most joy was found in her grandchildren, Grandma Fischer or Meme to Dustin, Tyler, Brandon, Vlad, Anastasia & Anna; Mandy & Paul; Jessica, Samantha, Brandon, Kimberly, Jesse-Lee & Clay; Kelsie-Marie, Braeden, Kamryn & Logan; Cheyenne, Destiny, Dawson & Chelby; great-grandchildren Austin, Aly, Kaleb, Nathan, Skylar, Lexsea, Rylee, Briar, Everly, Lucas & Layton; Tianna, Talia, Riley, Chloe & Vincent; Joey, Nova-Anne, Hayzleigh, Ace, Taylor, Jace, Dallas, Remmington & August; Everleigh Joy; and great-great-grandmother of Peyton & Palmer. Daughter of the late Clement & the late Blanche Daigle (nee Lapping). Sister of Clement Jr. “Clem” (Maureen), Linda, late Yvonne (late Roy), Sylvia (Gord), Rita (late Berry), Patsy (Mike), and Sue (Dave). Lovingly remembered by dozens and dozens and dozens of nieces & nephews and their families, extended family, friends, friends who have become closer than family, and the Deep River & area community as a whole.

Margaret wanted her life remembered and celebrated the way she lived it, not just on one day with a funeral, fuss, bells or whistles but every day, by enjoying the simple things in life, surrounding yourself with family and friends, spending time in nature, nurturing & admiring the garden, cooking a hardy meal, putting in a hard day’s work, persevere through the tough times – all things she did daily, values she instilled in her family and hopefully, this legacy will continue to be shared with the generations to come. Through all of life’s hardships, may she now rest in eternal peace.
