Lorraine Hawkins

It is with immense sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother Lorraine Elsie Hawkins (nee Wilcox) of Pembroke, peacefully with family by her side, at Miramichi Lodge on Friday, May 23, 2025, in her 96th year.

Lorraine Hawkins, wife of 71 years shared in marriage to the late Burton Hawkins (2024). Cherished mother to her 3 children, Lynn Rogers (Almonte), Neil (Manotick), Doug (Pembroke), grandmother to Tyler Hawkins, and great grandmother to Sophie, Callie, Whitney, & Mila. Born in Beachburg, she was the loving daughter of her late parents Stanley & Elsie Wilcox (nee Rollins). Survived by brother Wayne (Zita) of Brockville & sister-in-laws Geraldine Wilcox (Pembroke), Barbara Wilcox (Eganville) & Colleen DeWolfe (St. Catherine’s). Predeceased by her brother Kenneth, sister Grace Jones (Bob), brothers Morris, & Gilbert. Sadly missed by several nieces, nephews, & cousins.

Rest in peace Mom, knowing you were loved & appreciated by family and friends. Our memory of you will be filled with happy thoughts knowing you are reunited now with those you loved. Dad has been waiting for another waltz around the dance floor.

A very sincere thank you to all the staff at Miramichi Lodge (especially those who work on 2A). Your care and compassion showed towards Mom did not go unnoticed and will be forever appreciated.

As per Lorraine’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at Wesley United Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Miramichi Lodge Foundation are appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.
