TOMALTY, Kenneth Leslie – Passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour on Thursday, May 5, 2022 in his 92nd year.
Kenneth Tomalty of Pembroke, devoted husband of Wilda Tomalty (nee Townsend). Loving father of Rick (Carol) and the late Randy (Sandra). Grandfather of Heather (Scott), Matthew (Rebekah), Christopher, Garrett (Jennae) and great-grandfather of Aaron, Shephard, Leland and Phineas. Predeceased by his brother Nelson of Gimli, MB. Son of the late Robert Leslie and Maggie Muriel Tomalty (nee McPhail).
Born in Dalesville, QC, Ken moved his wife and two young sons to Petawawa in 1964 to start KenLen Manufacturing, a custom sawmill serving local lumber mills. Losing the sawmill to fire about eight years later put Ken on a path to launching Ken Tomalty & Sons Trucking, which he successfully operated until his retirement in 1995.
For the past several years, Ken completely dedicated himself to his role as primary caregiver for Wilda as her health declined.
Ken was a man of deep faith participating in leadership within his local church for many years. He enjoyed the opportunities presented to him to serve as a lay-preacher for numerous congregations. Ken’s unwavering confidence in God’s love and goodness gave him a peace that passed all understanding through the many trials of his life, and his faith has now been rewarded with a new, very upscale and permanent address.
A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at the Pembroke Pentecostal Tabernacle, 34 Brandon Avenue in Pembroke on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.
