It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Lorne Schultz in the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Friday August 24 at the age of 83.

Kenneth was born,raised and resided in Pembroke Ontario. Forever loved for 63 years by his wife, Violet (nee Gutziet). Cherished and adored by his daughters Debbie (late Lee Lapierre) Pembroke, Karen (James Simpson “his buddy”) Ottawa and Nancy (Steen Magnussen) Victoria.  A great and loving Poppa to Jansen , Jaime, Stefanie, Kyle, Courtney and Michaela. Survived by his loving sister June (late Chuck Syrie his forever best friend) Lovingly referred to as’Uncle Ken’ by Lee Ann, Mark, Ellen and Kirk Plummer. Brother in law to Norval and Joyce Gutziet and uncle to Dana and Shawn. He was predeceased by his father Arthur, mother Clara, brother Melvin, special nephew Kirk Syrie, and brother in law Alec and sister in law Bernice Schroeder. 

Ken worked at the Pembroke Observer for 40 years taking pride in getting the paper out each and every day. He spent many an hour trolling the Ottawa River in search of the ‘Big Catch’. His other passions included golfing and curling.  Always remembered with a smile on his face and a song in his heart. We Love You.

Visitation will take place at the Malcolm, Deavitt and Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke on Monday, August 27, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  A funeral Service will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Pembroke on Monday at 2:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers donations to Dementia Society (formerly the Alzheimer Society) or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.  Online donations and condolences may be made at www.mdbfuneralhome.com
