Jérome (Jerry) Maurice Olaizola – passed away at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Friday, April 2, 2026 at the age of 84 years.

Jérome (Jerry) Olaizola was born in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon and lived and worked as a ship captain in Vancouver, BC. Beloved husband of the late Lucia Olaizola (nee Poliño). Son of the late Pierre Marie Aristide Olaizola & Renée Louise Esther Olaizola (nee Foliot). Father of Chantal, Teresa, Derek, Jerry and the late David. Grandfather of Maxime, Löic & Benjamin; Ashley, Alexandra & Cassandra; Olivia & Lucas as well as several great-grandchildren. Brother of Marie-Terese Bertelot, Renée Sarasola, Yvette Pierre-Louis, Esther Ross, Odile Olaizola, Michelle Richeleau, Pierre Marie, Roger, Guy, Gérard, Maurice & Hubert. Will be missed by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial Visitation will be held at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Friday, May 1, 2026 from 1 till 2:45 p.m., followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. A reception will follow. Interment of ashes in Valley View Memorial Garden Cemetery in Vancouver, BC. The service will be live streamed and available by clicking this link (Livestream). Jérome Olaizola est née à Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon et vivait en tant que capitaine de navire à Vancouver, Colombie-Britannique. Épous de feu Lucia Olaizola (née Poliño). Fils de Pierre Marie Aristide Olaizola & Renée Louise Esther Olaizola (née Foliot). Père de Chantal, Teresa, Derek, Jerry et feu David. Grand-papa de Maxime, Löic et Benjamin; Ashley, Alexandra et Cassandra; Olivia et Lucas ainsi que plusieurs arrière-petit-enfants. Frère de Marie-Terese Bertelot, Renée Sarasola, Yvette Pierre-Louis, Esther Ross, Odile Olaizola, Michelle Richeleau, Pierre Marie, Roger, Guy, Gérard, Maurice et Hubert. Sera manqué par plusieurs nieces, neveux, cousins et ami(e)s.

La visite commémorative sera assurée au Salon Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke le Vendredi, 1er Mai, 2026 de 1:00 à 2:45 p.m., suivi d'un service commémoratif à la chapel à 3:00 p.m. Une réception suivra. L’enterrement des cendres sera à une date ultérieure au Cimetière Valley View Memorial Garden à Vancouver, Colombie-Britannique.
