James "Jimmy" Giesebrecht

December 1, 1946 — April 11, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James "Jimmy" Giesebrecht. He passed away peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital surrounded by those who loved him, on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the age of 79 years.

James Charles Giesebrecht of Petawawa, son of the late Frederick & Frances Giesebrecht (nee Millark). He leaves behind his sisters, Judy Giesebrecht, Ottawa and Pam Charbonneau (Glenn), Pembroke; as well as his nieces, nephews, and many cousins. Predeceased by his brother Billy Giesebrecht.

A dedicated worker, he took great pride in contributing to the family business, where his strong work ethic and loyalty never went unnoticed. It’s fair to say his life revolved around Pepsi—and right up until his final days, he would ask for a Diet Pepsi without hesitation. He found joy on the open road, embracing every drive as an adventure. His love for Toronto was evident in his many visits, especially enjoying memorable meals at Ruth’s Chris Steak House. He also cherished his trips to Montreal, where he shared countless laughs and unforgettable moments with friends, particularly while attending and watching hockey games, a sport he truly loved. He had a deep appreciation for the arts, with a special love for musicals and plays. Throughout his life, he attended many concerts and performances alongside Gilda and Stephanie, creating lasting memories filled with music and joy. He had a special passion for his caravan, spending many happy days traveling and attending car shows. He had a lifelong love for animals, always showing a gentle and caring spirit. His bond with the Lemke family was one of true love and belonging—they were not just friends, but family. His connection with Jula was especially meaningful, and their relationship was filled with love, pride, and a lasting friendship. He will be remembered for his brazen humour and the way he made those around him feel like family. He leaves behind a legacy of memories and moments that will be cherished forever.

Respecting James’ wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Renfrew County SPCA. Arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.
