Passed away peacefully at the Pembroke General Hospital in her 101st year on August 25th, 2026.
Beloved wife of the late Bruce (Hank) Moffat. Cherished Mother of John Moffat (Sonja) and Nancy Moffat.
Proud grandmother of Charity Szeles, Edward Carter (Stephanie), the late Mark Moffat, Sarah Graham (Chris), Anthony Berndt (Madelaine) and Andrew Berndt (Ashley); 10 great grand-children and one great-great grand-child.
Katherine attended Bishop's University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in French Literature and language in 1947. At University she enjoyed singing in the choir and playing bridge. While living in Thailand Kathy fulfilled a life long dream of visiting the breadth of the country. Over the years she travelled extensively, these adventures and discoveries brought her much joy. She was active in the community through her membership in the UCW, OES and Meals on Wheels. For many years while wintering in Jamaica she volunteered to teach grade one at Saint James Prep in MoBay.
The family would like to thank the staff at Supples Landing and the Pembroke General Hospital for their care and kindness. We are most grateful to Dr. Dorota Szczepanik who was a comfort to us at Kathy’s end of life. We acknowledge the kindness of Lillian Critchton, who through the years watched over Kathy while living on her own and far from home. A special heartfelt thanks to Glenda Sinclair of Montego Bay for her years of service and friendship to Kathy.
