Irene Radtke

Irene Grace Radtke passed away peacefully at Miramichi Lodge, Pembroke, Ontario on Monday, March 2, 2026.

Irene Radtke, proud lifelong resident of Petawawa. Daughter of the late Helen Radtke (nee Eichstaedt) and the late Fred Radtke. Irene will be lovingly remembered by her two sisters, Sheila Specht (late Donald) and Joyce Dechert (late Charles), as well as many cousins, nephews, nieces, extended family and dear friends.

She dedicated the majority of her working years to Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (A.E.C.L.) in Chalk River, where she was a valued and respected employee. She embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. Irene spent many happy days on the golf course with her ladies, and she rarely missed the chance to watch hockey, baseball, or golf. Some of her most treasured moments were shared with special family and friends at “The Shack”, casting a line in the Ottawa River and always hoping to catch the big one. She also enjoyed many bus trips to try her luck at the Hull Casino. She loved her time in her home, meticulously caring for her lawn and enjoying a beer.

She will be remembered for her independence, her love of sports, and the simple joys she found in time spent with those she cared about most. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

As per Irene's wishes, a Graveside Memorial Service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Petawawa and will announced at a later date. In memory of Irene's, donations to Miramichi Lodge would be greatly appreciated. The family extends their sincere thanks to the staff of 2B at Miramichi for their compassionate care and kindness shown to Irene.
