Idella Ida Zoschke

Idella Zoschke  passed away at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Saturday, April 25, 2026 in her 104th year.

Idella Ida Zoschke (nee Krueger) of Pembroke, beloved wife of the late Gordon Zoschke. Dear mother of Nelda Noack (Ian), Pembroke; Kenneth Zoschke; Alice and Barbra Fricker (Gordon), Ottawa. Much loved by her grandchildren Susan Gannon (Christopher), Adam Noack (Samantha), Jessica Fricker and Erica Fricker. Cherished “Big Grandma” to Harper & Declan Noack. Predeceased by her parents Frank & Anna Krueger (nee Quast) and siblings Alma Allsopp, Annie Kant, Cora Kruger, Hilda Reckzin, Harold Kruger, Wilfred Kruger, and Marion Duncan. Survived by sister-in-law Frieda Biesenthal and many nieces and nephews.

Idella was born and raised in Krugerdorf, a small hamlet in Northern Ontario settled by her parents and grandparents. She moved to the Ottawa Valley as a young woman, married and raised her family here. She will be remembered for her love of scrabble and bingo and her quick wit and sense of humour which she maintained to the very last.

We wish to thank the wonderful staff at Pinewood Retirement Home and to her numerous caregivers over the years. Special thanks to Dr. Todd Gauthier and Pastor Bruce Thompson for their care and concern, going above and beyond their call of duty and to the caring staff at the PRH.

Memorial Visitation will be held at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 533 Borne Rd., Pembroke, Sunday, May 10th from 1:00 until 1:45., followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Interment of ashes in St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery. A luncheon will follow. As an expression of sympathy, donations to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church are appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.
