JANES, Howard – passed away peacefully at Miramichi Lodge in Pembroke, on Thursday, May 8, 2025 in his 97’th year.
Korean War Veteran, UN Peacekeeper, over 40 years of Service in the Canadian Armed Forces. Ret’d Sgt.
Howard Eugene Janes of Petawawa, beloved husband of the late Dorothy Janes (nee Deering). Dear father of Karl Janes (Marya), Petawawa; Donna Saulnier (Norman), Petawawa; Greg Janes (Linda), Ottawa; Gordon Janes (Angie), Pembroke and predeceased by sons Jerry Janes (Cheryl), Cordell Janes, Keith Janes (Heather) and daughter Glenyce Jackson (Frank). Son of the late Andrew Janes & Maude Pickford Janes Wareham of Greenspond, NL. Cherished Poppy to Jacob & Jackie; Trista & Christopher; Kyle & Jessica; Amanda, Jennifer, Jeffrey & Adam; Benjamin; Kaitlin & Grace; and Cody as well as great-grandfather of many great-grandchildren. Brother of late Frank (late Marguerite), late Claudine Hussey (late Albert), late Baxter (late Shirley), Jerusha Roberts (late George), late Clyde Wareham (late Bonnie), late Barbara Brownell (Carl), Sharon Fournier (Emile), late Charles Janes (Eva), late Margaret Penney, late Ernest Wareham, late Sarah Hennessey, late Elijah Wareham, late Samuel Wareham, late William Wareham Jr., late Dorothy Fukala, late Clara Henessey; Brother-in-law of Elsie Reid (late Crosby); survived and missed by several nieces and nephews and relatives.
