In Loving Memory of Gisele
Passed away peacefully in her home, at 11:11 a.m. on October 21, 2025—a time tied to wishes and dreams, with her husband and daughter by her side, at the age of 70 years.
Gisele Robertson (nee Gauthier) of Pembroke, beloved wife of 48 years to Grant Robertson. Loving mother of Amy Bennett, Ottawa. Adored Nana to Evie Bennett (her “dawlin”). Sister of Paulette Ryan (Kevin), Pembroke and Charline Troutman (Terry), Meridian Beach, Alberta. Predeceased by parents Philias “Phil” & Irene Gauthier (nee Gendron) and brother Denis Gauthier. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and friends.
Although born and raised in Pembroke, Ontario, Gisele and Grant moved to Kincardine, Ontario in 1982, where their daughter Amy was born and raised, and where they spent the next 26 years making memories until they returned to Pembroke.
Gisele was such a radiant force. Her spark, her wit, and the fierce way in which she loved left an everlasting imprint on the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her. She lived her life with grace and grit, especially in the face of adversity.
When life dealt her difficult hands, Gisele played with grace, humour, and strength. Through her cancer journey, she never complained, never asked “why me,” but instead lifted others up with courage and love.
She had an uncanny memory—able to recall what someone wore at a party or gathering years ago—and a deep love for golf, kayaking, travel, and making memories with family and friends. She changed the energy of every space she entered and made sure everyone else was happy and having a good time.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Erin Van Hoof and Sharon Rowan for the extraordinary palliative care they provided to Gisele in her final days. Their compassion and unwavering support brought comfort and dignity to Gisele and to all of us who loved her.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at Beachburg Union Cemetery, on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at the Quality Inn & Conference Centre, 900 Pembroke St. E., Pembroke from 3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Beachburg Union Cemetery, the Pembroke Regional Hospital, or The Ottawa Hospital Cancer Program would be appreciated.
