Frances Eleanor Craig

August 22, 1934 — June 27, 2025

Frances Eleanor Craig (nee Crozier) completed her earthly journey on Friday, June 27, 2025, with her daughters at her side at the age of 90 years.

Born on August 22, 1934, Frances lived a life rooted in faith, service, and love. She is predeceased by her husband Rev. Eldon Craig, her daughter Cheryl, her granddaughter Jessica and several great-grandchildren welcomed into heaven before they could be held on earth. She is survived by her three daughters: Sharon Guptill (Jay), Merri-Lynn Raddatz (Kevin), and Vallerie MacCallum (Rob); 12 grandchildren; and at the time of her passing 11 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way. Her extended family included nieces, nephews, and many cherished lifelong friends. Frances was the last surviving member of her Crozier family of origin.

Though her time in the classroom was brief, she was a lifelong teacher—shaping lives not only through formal education but through her daily interactions, wisdom, and example. Together with her beloved husband Eldon, Frances served in local church ministry and as a missionary in Egypt. Her life was marked by action, care, and a deep commitment to family. She aged with grace, never losing her curiosity or her joy. Frances will be remembered for many things: the family music group that travelled to churches and camps throughout southern Ontario and Quebec; her thoughtful connection with others through phone calls, handwritten notes, and her weekly Thinking of You Devotionals email, which brought encouragement and spiritual reflection to many. A lifelong learner and enthusiast for staying connected, Frances embraced technology with enthusiasm. She even contributed to a Cooking with Grandma series of online videos—a joyful blend of her love for family, storytelling, and hospitality. Hospitality was her gift, and her home was a place of warmth and welcome. Her devotion to family was unwavering—loving and supporting her parents, in-laws, daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with steadfast faith and gentle strength. Always ready for an adventure—and always up for ice cream—Frances brought energy and delight wherever she went. And now, she has met her Saviour face to face. While we deeply grieve her absence, we live in the hope that we will see her again.

The family extends heartfelt thanks for your thoughts and prayers through this journey. A special thank you to the Access Palliative Care program, Dr. Lynsay Lane, and Dr. Brent Deveau for their incredible support and compassion, which made it possible for Frances to remain at home in her final weeks.
