VARVARESOS, Evanthia “Vania” – passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the age of 78 years.

Vania Varvaresos (nee Bardis), beloved wife of the late Nicholas Varvaresos.  Dear mother of Athon (Oxana), Dino (Heather) and Michelle (Boguslav).  Proud Yiayia of Alexandra & Evan; Sebastian & Nikolas; and  Brigitte.  Daughter of the late Father Athanasios Bardis and the late Presbytera Stamatina Bardis (nee Liza). Sister of John Bardis (Helen),  Angeliki Mandelou (Fotis) and Peter Bardis (Miropi).  Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Greece.

Vania came to Canada in 1963 to join her fiancé Nick.  Shortly thereafter, the two were wed, created their home in Pembroke, began their lifelong journey in business and ultimately started their own branch of the family tree.  One could find great comfort in her abiding strength and quiet advocacy and selfless devotion to helping others.  She was passionate about her family, her community and her vast social network.  She took her relationships very seriously and nurtured each and every one.  She was devoted to her family, friends and faith. Above all, Vania was the cornerstone of our lives, the glue that kept us, her loved ones, connected to each other with love and respect.
