MOSS, Erma Dorothy Ruth - Peacefully, on Thursday, September 10, 2020 in her 88th year, following a massive stroke.
Erma Moss (nee Reiche) wife of the late Roger Moss (2007). A devoted mother to Angela Moss (Nonie), Alberta; Tim Moss, Pembroke; Jane Halpenny, Metcalfe; and Mark Moss (Lori), Pembroke/Ottawa. A proud grandmother to Jason (Ashley), Robert, Emily (Gabor), Nathan, Matthew, Joshua, Jonathan (Natasha) and Elizabeth (Ryan). Great-grandmother of Kaitlyn Moss. A dear sister to Joan Phannenhour (Lloyd). Predeceased by her sister Greta Melcher (late Edgar), brothers Morris (late Rachel) and Earl. Daughter of the late Erdman and Dorothy Reiche (nee Frederick). Sister-in-law of Lloyd Moss (Kathleen), Connie Moss (Donna) and Raymond. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Mom was a keen gardener with a love for every flower and plant that would grow. Never concerned when a flower grew up randomly, she would tell us that “God had planted that one, just leave it!” She was a homemaker that carried out her role and responsibilities with pride and precision. Along with Dad, she supported and encouraged her children and grandchildren in their passions and career choices, taking pride with the accomplishments and supporting through the challenges and disappointments. Her strong, yet quiet faith and a love for the hymns of the church, carried her when the road sometimes narrowed. She deeply missed Dad and often recalled the happy days, working side by side with him in the garden, and the joy of family gatherings.
Due to Covid restrictions a private family visitation followed by a private family service in the Chapel of the Malcolm, Deavitt and Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke, will be held. Interment in the cemetery of Zion Evangelical United Church. As an expression of sympathy donations to the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. A sincere and heartfelt thank you is extended to Dr. Evelyn Weatherston and her staff, for many years of care, to neighbours Paul and Heather Miller for watching out for and assisting Mom when called upon and more recently, to the staff of the Pembroke Regional Hospital for the respectful and dignified care provided.
