Erika Ursula von der Hoeh (nee Weiss) was lifted by the spirit of God from her home in Golden Lake to her Eternal Home, to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at the age of 74 years.
Erika is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband of 48 years, Christian von der Hoeh. Devoted Mama of Andrea Zadow, Daniel (Tara), and Bernie (Karen). Proud Oma of Jeremy (Leeanne), Alex (Thomas), Cassandra (Joren), and Abbigale (Brayden). Survived by sister Hildegard, who resides in Sweeden. Predeceased by parents Otto & Elli Weiss (nee Meiritz) and brother Luthar Weiss. Her companion, trusted dog Oddi, feels lost without her. Remembered by extended family and friends from Golden Lake, Hamilton, and Europe.
Erika was born October 24, 1951in Dortmund, Germany. Erika has navigated heart concerns since the age of 14 years. She immigrated to Canada to marry her soulmate Christian in 1973. Rooted in Hamilton, through the miracle of God, they started their family. With summers spent cottaging in the valley, their hearts were drawn to Golden Lake where they would ultimately settle, Christian in retirement, and Erika keeping busy working in retail, finance, Golden Lake Variety, and her gardens.

A Funeral Service will be held at Salem Evangelical Missionary Church, 7 Crimson Maple Rd, Eganville, on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, 344 Zadow Rd., Killaloe. A Celebration of Life will be held at Golden Lake Community Hall, 3314 Lake Dore Rd., Golden Lake from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated.
