HARTWIG, M.J ELLSWORTH – passed away peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital, on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the age of 88 years.
Ellsworth Hartwig of Pembroke, beloved husband of 68 years to Anna Hartwig (nee Noack). Dear father of Matthew (Barbara) Hartwig, late infant son David, Meryl (Lorraine) Hartwig, Cheryl (Philippe) Lair, Garwin (Joan) Hartwig, Ellsworth Jr. (Stacey) Hartwig all of Pembroke. Cherished grandfather of Adam Hartwig, Michael (Mary-Ann) Hartwig, Sarah (Ben) Day & Corey (Jessica) Hartwig, Samuel (Victoria) Hartwig , Simon (Sarah) Hartwig , Angela (David) Bouthillier & Joey (Rhindee) Lair; Crystal (Anthony) Pitre & Lynnsey Hartwig; Mitchel (Jenica) Hartwig, Michelle Hartwig, Nathan (Cassandra) Hartwig, Jessica Hartwig, Hayley Hartwig and Josh Hartwig. Great-grandfather to 20. Predeceased by parents Alexander & Louise Hartwig (nee Maves) and by grandchildren Jonathan Hartwig & Grace Lair and by siblings Maurice (late Frieda), Muriel (late Norm Plumb), Mervin, Myles (Phyillis), Marilyn (12 years) and infant twins. Survived and missed by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Sunday, May 15 from 2:00 til 4:00 & 7:00 til 9:00 p.m. and on Monday, May 16 from 10:00 til 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service at First Evangelical Missionary Church, 39 Shalom St., on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. Interment following the reception at Wilberforce United Cemetery.
