Edith Scholz

Edith Scholz (nee Ewert) passed away at home on Thursday, July 2, 2026 in her 88th year.

Edith Helen Scholz of Pembroke, wife of the late Hans Hagenah and by first marriage the late Hans Scholz. Deeply missed by her daughters Heidi McQuade (Terry) & Debra Ogilvie (Michael) both of Pembroke. Cherished Granny to Bradley McQuade (Katie), Kristal Villeneuve (Matt) & Tyler McQuade; Matt Ogilvie & Rebecca Casey (Mike). Great-Granny to Rylan, Ellie & Macklin. Survived by brothers Wolfgang Ewert (late Eva), Klaus Ewert (Marybeth) & Monika Sammon (Charlie) and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parent Paul & Helen Ewert (nee Patschluck), brother Paul Ewert (Lois), Helga MacDonald (late Allan), brother-in-law Terry Sammon, niece Jennifer Sammon and nephew Michael Ewert.

A Graveside Service will be held at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Boundary Rd., Pembroke on Monday, July 20, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow at Edith’s home. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.
