ROSLYN, Bernadine – passed away suddenly at the Ottawa Heart Institute on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the age of 75 years.
Bernadine Roslyn of Killaloe, beloved mother of Kelly Klinck (Christian Shepherd) & Heidi Klinck (Nate Shoemaker); stepmother to Mike, Rodney and Jim Turner. Grandmother of Matthew, Dalton, Logan, Ashley, and Austin. Sister of Leighton Roslyn (Paulette), Kevin Roslyn, Lynn Henry & Shawn Roslyn (Shelley). Predeceased by her parents, Stanley (1973) & Lucy Roslyn (nee Stupak) (2004) and brother Peyton (1968). She was fondly know as “Aunt Bern” to Ryan, Peter, Holly, Cory, Morgan, Nicholas, Jake & Natasha as well as several grand nieces and nephews.
A consummate geek, she started her first computer business, Roslyn Data Systems, in 1986 and watched it evolve over the next 4 decades. First, Roslyn & Huestis Computer Centre; then, Village Computer Centre, Bayberry Lane Designs, AlgonquinEast.com and finally Valley Web Studio. Most of the time, she enjoyed working with her daughter Kelly from 1993 - 2016. Passionate about volunteering and pioneering change, Bernadine spearheaded numerous causes, organizations, and groups; Community Resource Centre (CRC) in Killaloe and Toy Bus, The Killaloe Craft and Community Fair, Railway Station Park in Barry’s Bay and innumerable Business Development committees. Bernadine’s current passion was Green Burial Ottawa Valley.
Bernadine will be interred at Locksley United Cemetery, B-Line Road. Arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, November, 18th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at The Stone Church - 1887 Mountain View Rd, Killaloe.
