Ann Clarke

Clarke, Ann Mildred – passed away peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Sunday, September 6, 2021 at the age of 86 years.

She has sung her last song, rhymed her last rhyme, and done her last schtick. The irrepressible Ann Clarke has left this world.

Predeceased by her parents Charles & Jean Appleby and sisters Judy & Barbara. She is sadly missed by her little brother Paul (Brenda) Appleby. She was a lot of things, including wife of James; mother of Gail Bilocq (Sylvain), Jim, David, Michael (Sylvia) & Barbara (Hellen); grandmother to Kevin (Kerri) & John (Stephanie) Clarke, Alexander (Olivia) & Victoria (Adam) Clarke - predeceased by grandson Nicholas Clarke; and great-grandmother to Logan, Briley, Luxton & Kimberly. This list acknowledges a host of ‘adopted’ kids, grandkids and exes over the years as her circle of love and friendship was so inclusive - if you came, you were fed and you were family.

Ann was a beautiful singer and musical actress, a writer and poet, an athlete and swim coach, a chef and hostess with the mostest and the personality of her 67 year marriage to James as they traversed the military life and travelled North America with the Shriners. Such a gifted women who was perhaps born in the wrong era for her outrageous and varied longings.

Respecting Ann’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A public celebration honouring her well lived life will be held at the Petawawa Golf Course on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.
