Alice Berger

October 12, 1932 — June 5, 2026

BERGER, Alice Gertrude (nee Grosklag) - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother and very dear friend. Alice spent 70 wonderful years with her best friend and husband Leslie Berger before his passing in 2016. Together they raised three children: late Bernard Berger, George Berger (late Sue) and Joy Berger. She loved her grandchildren Janice (Rick Panke), Jeffrey Berger, Ryan Scobie (Danielle), Andrew Clarke & Ellen Berger. Great-Grandchildren Jonathon Panke, Christopher Panke (Gabrielle), Justin Panke, Allyssa (Rodney Baldwin), Amy Berger & Oliver Scobie. Great-Great-Grandchildren Kaleb, Nolan, Callie, Thomas & Sierra Panke. Alice was the oldest child of Albert & Myrle Grosklag (nee Beaudrie). She is survived by her brother Fredrich “Freddie” (Millie). She is predeceased by her siblings Maynard (late Bernadette), Dwila and Wilbert (Corinne).

Alice grew up in hard and simple times. She made lovely quilts for her family and pieced quilt tops for Cancer with Sister-in-law Corinne. Alice will be missed by many people for her kindness and knowledge of family ancestry.

A Celebration of Life will be held the first week of July at the family cottage and a interment of ashes will take place at the Cobden Union Cemetery beside Leslie on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Wycliffe Bible Translators would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.
