MARKUS, William Alfred "Alfy" - passed away at his home, surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 15, 2018 in his 75th year.

Alfy Markus of Pembroke, dearly loved husband of Judy Markus (nee Fidler).  Loving father of Marty Markus (Lisa Arnold), Brenda Markus (Albert Rose), Susan Gilchrist (Shawn) & Tracy Schori (Winston).  Cherished grandfather of Marisa Markus; Jessica Clarke; Kayla & Bailey Gilchrist; and Cory Channing, Natasha & Alison Schori; as well as many great-grandchildren.  Dear brother of Catherine Faught (Tom), Alma Cybulski (late Michael), Marion Kraft (late Arnold), June Popke (late Elvin), Linda Field (late Chuck), and Milton (Marilyn), Robert (Gloria) & Donald (Darlene) Markus.  Son of the late David & Myrtle Markus (nee Anderson).  Predeceased by grandsons Alex Clarke & Travis Markus; brothers David & Murray Markus; and sister Viola Thom (late Eldon).  Also survived by sister-in-law Sandra Williston (Willy), as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Monday, March 19, 2018 from 2 to 4:00 and 7 to 9:00 p.m.  A Funeral Service will be held at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, Pembroke on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., followed by cremation.  (As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.)  Online condolences and donations are available at www.mdbfuneralhome.com.
