Adam Laskowski passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family after fighting the good fight on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at the age of 69 years.
Lucjan (Luch) Adam Laskowski of Pembroke, beloved husband of 32 years to Lynn Keller. Father of Melanie, Melissa, Nick (Amber), Tom and Gene (Dustin). Cherished Dziadzio (grandfather) to Madison, Chloe and Sophie “Jellybean”. Survived and missed by his brother Edward (late Denise) and sister Teresa (Wayne) Broderick, sisters-in-law Val Nolting (Charlie), Michele Schleen (Donnie), Roxane Musclow (Shane) and brother-in-law Mike Keller (Barb). Predeceased by his parents Lieutenant Adam Sr. Laskowski (decorated World War 2 veteran) & Kazimiera Laskowski (nee Ruta), brother Andrew, Chris (Julie), Richard and sister Mary. Missed and remembered by many nieces, nephews and numerous friends he considered family.
Adam, known to many folks in the valley as “The Flag Man”, was owner and operator of the former Sleepy Haven Motel. Adam will be lovingly remembered by so many; he was an adventurous (some might say crazy) fun loving soul who loved to talk, was generous to a fault and freely gave of himself to everyone whether he knew them or not. He was an “adopted dad” to many. Adam was a Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leaf's fan, but more importantly, he had a deep appreciation for his Polish Heritage and was very proud. His wife Lynn will cherish the countless road trips where they would get in the truck and just drive, no GPS, just follow your heart...life is a highway he would say.
The family would like to thank everyone for their continued prayers, messages of support, gifts of food and time. Special thank you to Dr. Richard Johnson of the PRHMTU, for his excellent care and home visits, nurse Lisa Spence and the rest of the Bayshore health care team for their care & compassion.
Memorial Visitation will be held at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St. Pembroke, on Friday, June 5, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Columbkille’s Cathedral, 188 Renfrew St. Pembroke, on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The service will be livestreamed and recorded. Immediately following the service, as per Adam’s request, the family encourages everyone to line up in their vehicles behind the funeral cars for a procession “Tour de Pembroke”. A luncheon will follow at St. Columbkille's Cathedral – in true Adam fashion, come one come all, the more the merrier! In lieu of flowers, an act of kindness and passing it on in memory of Adam is most appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.
